W H A T A D A Y!!
What a wonderful afternoon of delicious cakes, fun with friends, competitions and chatting!
All of us here at Eyebrook Wild Bird Feeds would like to say a very big and heartfelt THANK YOU to all our customers and friends who supported our tea and coffee event last week.
We are totally overwhelmed with the response we had and we are very excited to say that the event raised a grand total of £6,851.57!!!!!!
Our Afternoon Tea in the garden at Rectory Farm had to migrate into the barn as showers were forecast for the afternoon. Machinery was moved out and bunting hung up transforming the shed to a tearoom for the afternoon! And thank heavens it did rain, as we would have never fitted everyone in the garden! We were completely overwhelmed by over 300 people attending our event!
We started serving at 2pm and didn’t stop all afternoon. It was such a joy to see friends and neighbours chatting and enjoying company once again, many had not seen each other since lockdown began and it was a great opportunity for a grand village catch up! Hundreds of cups of tea were consumed and slices of cake devoured.
The raffle was a highlight and biggest fundraiser with attractive prizes donated by local businesses. Young and old were entertained by the display of vintage and modern tractors and a giant digger to sit on, and the farm bygones competition kept everyone guessing all afternoon. In addition, we had a tombola, kids activity table and ice cream sale, everyone was having such fun the event continued all afternoon!
All the money raised has been donated to Breast Cancer Now, who were a great support to our family two years ago when Abigail went through treatment for breast cancer. All our fundraising now goes to support this amazing charity as way of a thank you for helping Abigail, and to ensure it can continue its fantastic work in the future.
We look forward to our next tea and cake afternoon at Rectory Farm!
