Last updated: 9 October 2026

Who we are and how to contact us
Philip Johnson & Daughters, trading as Eyebrook Wild Bird Feeds, is responsible for deciding how your personal information is used. This makes us the data controller.
Write to Eyebrook Wild Bird Feeds, Rectory Farm, Great Easton, Market Harborough, LE16 8SN; email sales@eyebrookwildbirdfeeds.co.uk; or call 01536 770771. Please use these details for privacy questions, information requests and marketing opt-outs.

Information we collect
We collect information you provide when placing an order, creating an account, subscribing to emails, contacting us or submitting a review. This may include your name, billing and delivery addresses, email address, telephone number, account details, purchases, payment and refund records, correspondence, reviews, loyalty points and marketing preferences.

We also receive payment confirmations from payment providers and delivery updates from carriers. When you use the website, we may collect your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited and cookie preferences. Cookies and similar technologies are explained below.

For gifts, we receive the recipient’s name, address and any contact details from the purchaser. We rely on our legitimate interests in fulfilling the gift order to deliver it and resolve issues, not to add recipients to marketing lists.

How we use your information
Data protection law requires a lawful basis for each use of personal information. We use:
• Contract: to take steps you request before a purchase, process orders and payments, deliver products, manage your account and loyalty benefits, send order updates and handle returns.
• Legal obligation: to keep accounting and tax records and meet applicable legal requirements.
• Legitimate interests: to answer enquiries, resolve complaints, manage and publish customer feedback, prevent fraud, improve services and handle legal claims. Our interests are running a reliable business and protecting customers and our rights. We consider the effect on you before relying on this basis.
• Consent: where required for email marketing, optional cookies and similar technologies, including email measurement where required. Qualifying customer email offers and postal offers may use legitimate interests, as explained below.

Some information is needed to process an order, such as contact, delivery and payment details. Without it we may be unable to complete your purchase. Joining marketing lists is optional.

Email news and offers
We use Brevo for emails and contact preferences. Marketing emails rely on your subscription consent, or legitimate interests in promoting similar products to qualifying existing customers. Customer emails without a subscription are sent only where the legal conditions are met, including an opt-out when details were collected and in every marketing email.

You can stop marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us. We may still send necessary messages about your orders or account.

For marketing and transactional emails sent through Brevo, we use anonymised open and click measurement to understand overall performance and improve our emails. The reports do not link these events to individual recipients. This setting does not change historical reports from emails sent before anonymised measurement was enabled.

Occasional offers by post
We may use your name and billing address to send printed discount offers for our bird food and related products, no more than twice a year. We do not apply a fixed cut-off based on your last purchase date. Selection considers address accuracy and marketing preferences. Gift recipients’ delivery details are excluded.

We rely on legitimate interests in encouraging repeat purchases, taking account of your rights and reasonable expectations. We inform affected existing customers before starting this use.

We use Stannp.com, operated by Stannp Limited, to prepare and print our postal offers and arrange delivery through Royal Mail. We provide Stannp with the selected customers’ names and postal addresses for this purpose. Stannp processes these details on our instructions. Royal Mail receives the details needed for delivery. We check the mailing list against our marketing suppression records and the Mailing Preference Service before sending.

Your right to stop marketing
You can object to direct marketing at any time, without giving a reason. We will stop the marketing covered by your objection and will not override it on legitimate-interests grounds.
To stop postal offers, use the Manage preferences link in our marketing emails and save your postal preference, email sales@eyebrookwildbirdfeeds.co.uk, call 01536 770771 or write to the address above. You do not need to receive our emails to contact us directly. Please give us enough information to identify the relevant record, usually your name and postal address.

You can manage email and postal preferences separately. An email-only unsubscribe stops email marketing; a postal objection stops postal marketing. If you ask us to stop all marketing, we will apply this to both. Your choice does not affect your orders or your ability to shop with us.

We keep a minimal suppression record, meaning an internal record of people who have asked not to receive marketing, so that your objection is remembered and you are not accidentally added again. We rely on our legal obligation to respect marketing objections for this record.

Who we share information with
We share only the information needed for the relevant service with:
• Onesixone, Rocket.net and our website security and technical support providers, to operate and maintain the website.
• Brevo, to send emails and manage contact details and preferences.
• Stannp Limited, to prepare and print postal offers and arrange delivery through Royal Mail. We share the recipient names and postal addresses needed for the mailing.
• Stripe and PayPal, to process payments and refunds and help prevent fraud. Depending on the payment method, they receive necessary contact, billing, transaction and technical information. Apple Pay and Google Pay also handle information when you choose those digital wallets.
• DHL eCommerce UK for orders and Royal Mail for postal offers. They receive necessary names and addresses, plus contact and parcel information for order deliveries. They act as separate data controllers for delivery and related purposes explained in their privacy notices.
• CookieYes, to manage cookie choices, and Google and YouTube for the website measurement, advertising measurement and embedded video services described below.
• Our accounting providers and professional advisers where necessary for financial administration, advice or legal claims, and authorities where disclosure is legally required.

Our processors handle information on our instructions under appropriate contracts. Some providers, including payment and delivery providers, also use information for their own purposes, such as fraud prevention and legal obligations. Their privacy notices explain these uses and your rights. We remain responsible for our own use and sharing. We do not sell information or supply it for other organisations’ independent marketing.

Provider privacy information: Brevo | Stannp | Rocket.net | Stripe | PayPal | Apple Pay | Google Pay | Royal Mail | DHL eCommerce UK | CookieYes | Google website services

Processing outside the UK
Our website is hosted with Rocket.net on a UK server. Brevo stores its databases in the European Union, including France, Germany and Belgium. Stannp stores UK customer data in the European Economic Area, using Microsoft Azure data centres in Ireland. Transfers from the UK to these countries are covered by UK adequacy arrangements.

Other providers, including Rocket.net, payment providers, digital wallet providers and Google website services, may process information internationally, including in the United States. A UK website server does not mean that all associated processing remains in the UK. Transfers without UK adequacy coverage require another valid safeguard, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your information.

Cookies and website services
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to support the shopping basket, checkout, account login and other essential functions. These technologies can also identify a device or record activity, so information associated with them is not necessarily anonymous.

We use CookieYes to explain and manage cookies. Google technologies support website measurement and advertising measurement, and YouTube supplies embedded videos. We explain these purposes and request consent where required. You can review the detailed cookie information and change your choices through the website’s cookie settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the shop from working.  If you follow a link to another website or use a social media service, its own privacy information applies.

How long we keep information
We currently retain customer account and order records without a fixed deletion date. These records may include customers who have not ordered for many years. You may request deletion by contacting us. The need to keep information depends on the purpose for which it is held, applicable legal and accounting requirements, any unresolved issue or legal claim, and the need to remember marketing preferences. Some information may therefore need to be retained following a deletion request, including a minimal record of an opt-out.

Protecting your information
We protect personal information through appropriate technical and organisational measures, including secure website connections and access controls. Access is limited to those who need it for their work. Please do not send full card details by email.

Your other privacy rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can request a copy of your information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of use, or transfer of information in a portable format. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

You can also object to other uses based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your situation. We will stop unless we can demonstrate compelling grounds to continue, or need the information for legal claims. Your separate, absolute right to object to direct marketing is explained above.

Contact us using the details above. We normally respond within one month, subject to lawful extensions or other permitted adjustments. We may need to verify your identity. Some rights have exceptions, for example where records must be kept by law.

Complaints and policy updates
Please contact us with any concern. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113. We show this policy’s update date above. We will provide the required privacy information before starting a new use of your information.
