Farm Walk Season

Visit us to learn about farming, conservation and 90 years of history at Rectory Farm

Through out May and June we offer conducted Farm Walks welcoming 100’s of visitors to Rectory Farm.  The walks are for all ages and are tailored to your groups interests whether it be conservation, natural history or farming.  From the Squirrels to the WI, compost club to Naturetrek, to U3A rambling and wildlife groups,  these visits give us a great opportunity to promote the work that British Farmers do producing food and caring for the environment, and give the public a real insight into working life on the farm.

The walk starts with a warm welcome and tour of our traditional farmyard, then it’s a trek (or drive!) up the hill to enjoy spectacular views of the Eyebrook Reservoir with some local history and landmarks pointed out on route.  A chat about the workings of the farm and our regenerative principles follows, then it’s off to our conservation area to learn about how farming and conservation work hand in hand, and the great increases in bird and wildlife numbers on the farm.  On route back we learn about the sheep year and meet the pigs and cows, and finish off with a tour of the mixing shed and birdseed shop.  The walk concludes with a well deserved cuppa tea and selection of Sue’s legendary homemade cakes!

Interested in a walk?  Simply email us at sales@eyebrookwildbirdfeeds.co.uk or ring us at the farm on 01536 770771 to book in!
